Ripple Effect is a volunteer-led nonprofit humanitarian organization with a powerful mission: saving lives through access to clean, safe drinking water worldwide. Led by director Narcissa, the organization has become a vital force in communities both domestically and internationally.
The organization was established as a tangible expression of profound gratitude to God for healing Narcissa from cancer through the power of prayer. Twenty years after her cancer diagnosis, she stands as a living testimony of miraculous healing. This personal experience of transformation drives the organization's commitment to creating lasting change in the lives of others.
Thousands of children around the world are dying due to waterborne disease. Ripple Effect addresses this crisis by distributing water filtration systems to people marginalized by poverty, famine, conflict, and natural disaster across four continents.
The water filters used by Ripple Effect are remarkable in their effectiveness. These filters:
The filters are typically attached to buckets or water bottles, making them practical and accessible for families in need.
Ripple Effect is on the verge of an incredible milestone: reaching 100,000 people with clean water by the end of 2025. This achievement represents countless lives saved and communities transformed.
This year has brought significant growth for Ripple Effect, with new partnerships and first-time projects in Thailand, Belize, and Nepal. A major highlight is the ongoing collaboration with It Is Written ministry, completing projects in Ethiopia and the Dominican Republic where filters serve as tools to share Christ.
In Ethiopia, the organization has established an innovative approach, encouraging Adventist beneficiaries to invite neighbors to bring dirty water to their homes, filter it, and hear about Jesus. With 1,500 filters distributed this year in Ethiopia alone, the project will provide clean water for up to 10,000 people.
The Masai Mara region of Kenya demonstrates the expanding reach of Ripple Effect's work. The ministry in this area began in 2018 with the distribution of 500 filters. In March 2025, 550 filters were distributed. An upcoming church mission trip will deliver another 250 filters to the region. This brings the total to 800 filters serving the Masai Mara community this year. Additionally, a church from North Carolina will distribute another 300 filters in March 2026, demonstrating the growing momentum of this ministry.
Ripple Effect has several exciting mission trips planned:
In response to a recent hurricane in Jamaica, Ripple Effect has launched an urgent initiative. Many families lost everything and desperately need clean water. The goal is to distribute 500 filters, requiring $15,000. In just two days, the organization received pledges for $7,500 toward this project—a testament to the community's generosity.
Beyond the Jamaica emergency response, Ripple Effect is working toward a general fundraising goal of $60,000. So far, $26,000 has been raised, with $34,000 remaining.
There are several ways to support Ripple Effect's mission:
Every contribution makes a tangible difference in the lives of families who lack access to clean water. Through water filters, Ripple Effect not only provides a practical solution to a life-threatening problem but also creates opportunities to share hope and faith with communities around the world.
